Don't look at me!

Monday 14 March 2016

Oh look, yet another Lush blog post!

I have been using Lush fresh face masks a hell of a lot recently, and they are really starting to grow on me. I used to just stick to my usual Mask of Magnaminty Lush mask, but I have been really suffering and have -300% self confidence with my skin, and wanted to try something different to try to improve the look and feel of it.

I received Don't Look at Me today from a lovely lady from Depop. I've been wanting to try this mask but at nearly £7.00 I was skeptical on buying it as if my skin hated it, it would've been a total waste of money. (I must mention, these face masks are FRESH, and have a very short use by date, generally a month depending on dates you buy. They also have to be kept in the fridge!) I was so eager to try this as I know for a lot of people this is their holy grail face mask.

On first look, this face mask is a really beautiful blue/green colour. It's surprising how vivid the colour actually is, as the rest of the Lush face masks are quite neutral coloured. Personally, I love the colour and makes it that little bit more amusing when you smother your face in it!

Smell wise, the mask does have a lemon smell to it - however this mask is not an overpowering, full on scent like other masks can be. The smell is really not very noticeable, which again I really loved - sometimes it can be infuriating having something so strong under and around your nose!

The application of the product was really super duper easy - I use a flat foundation brush just for cleanliness and ease (I personally don't apply masks with my hands - it defeats the whole objective of it cleaning out the dirt, as your hands are loaded with all sorts of germs!). It spread onto my face fairly easy; I did have to go over a few spots. It is so soft and gentle to apply to the skin, it's just the right consistency to spread around properly, whether you use a brush, hands, feet, your toes... What I REALLY loved about this mask was that it didn't lose its colour once applied and I just really enjoyed having such a bright mask on my face...

I left this on until the mask completely dried up (also a plus - I've found a couple other masks don't dry, and it can so difficult to tell whether you've left it on long enough for it to do anything!). The mask was also so easy to wash off and I didn't find that I was scrubbing at my face for hours trying to get off the little bits that always seem to cling on for dear life!

After just one use I'm shocked at how soft my face feels - I've literally been sat here stroking it whilst I write this up. This has not left my skin feeling dry and cracked! Hallelujah! Even though I suffer with oily skin, I find a lot of masks dry my face up, not just Lush but just face masks as a whole. Although I can't give comment on whether this has made me break out or not since I only took the mask off 20 minutes ago, I do feel like my face is a whole bunch cleaner.

I REALLY REALLY recommend this mask if your skin is slightly oily but can be prone to dryness - I can just feel that my face still has moisture and it hasn't been ripped clean of anything other than dirt and icky stuff. I will try to post an update once I've used this mask a few more times to say if I've broken out or if my opinion changes, but I totally understand why this is so many people's holy grail mask. Please don't hesitate to buy this if you feel it would be suited to you. I swear, you won't regret buying this!!
